I need to let y'all know my sissy-law, Lynn, can bake. She was apprehensive about it, but the Boozy Bourbon Spice Cake (my favorite) tasted just like how my sweet baker of a wife made it. I sat by myself to take the first bite because I thought it may be a little emotional. And it was. It brought tears to my eyes.

On Vickie 's birthday, I tasted my wife's baking again. And it was so overwhelmingly wonderful.

Lynn, I know you wanted to bake this cake for me and have been wanting to do it since my birthday. I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate the effort you put into it (baking from scratch is no easy task). You gave me a wonderful reminder of my dear wife, your dear sister, and Vickie's dear daughter.

Thank you so much, sissy-law, for giving it a try. Your efforts paid off in spades and I'm so grateful for the experience, as bittersweet as it was. I love you.
