Memorial Day

May 29, 2023

As we begin our Memorial Day traditions, I pray we don't forget why we have it to begin with: to remember the fallen who served our country, beginning with the farmers and countrymen who fought for our very birth.

We all know someone who has served in the armed forces - either directly or through association with a job, a client, a friend, a neighbor, a doctor... I personally know and knew several people who have and are still serving. And I'm grateful for each of them - from my Grandaddy all the way to that WWII vet I talked to in Holland. I've got some great friends who served or are still serving. Mine and Felicia's families have about a dozen servicemen, most who are still with us.

But, this verse isn't about the military, specifically. It's about mankind as a whole. And it's about Yeshua's own mission - He was giving council to His deciples on what #Love truly is. Remember, Our Father loves His Creation so much, Yeshua loves His followers so much, that the ultimate giving of life was made: Jesus carried the burden of OUR #sins on that #cross 2000 years ago. He took the pain and suffering of the sin of ALL mankind from that moment in time through present day and beyond and bore it on the cross. This ONE SINGLE ACT is all it took for Yahweh to reconnect His People to Him, directly. This ONE SINGLE ACT removed the need for anyone to be His mediator, tearing the veil between the inner-sanctuary and the Holy of Holies, forever connecting mankind directly to God.

That is LOVE. Jesus taking His Cup and drinking from it so WE can have an eternity with Adonai is the greatest act anyone will ever do, ever. And it's this act that gives me comfort because I know my wife believed that Jesus Our Christ was the ultimate #Lamb and took all our sins as His own so that, if we truly believe this, we will be rejoined with Yahweh in His Kingdom. Because Felicia believed this without question, I rest peacefully. I'm comforted in my burdened soul because, even though the love of my life is no longer with me on this plane, I know she's #healed; I know she's #whole; I know she's worshipping Our Father in all His #Glory.

I love you, Felicia. Always. Forever. #Fiercely
